we’re sophia + colby. and yes, robins is actually our last name.
We’re a husband and wife photo + video team based in Utah — though “based” is generous. We’re usually on our way somewhere. We’ve got a hard time staying put longer than a week before we’re planning the next trip, which works out pretty well when your job is to show up wherever people are getting married and make them feel like themselves.
We started Chasing Robins because we couldn’t stop chasing adventures — and it turned out that documenting other people’s love stories was the best adventure of all.
What its Actually like to work with us
Sophia runs calm. Like, genuinely calm — even when the venue is running an hour behind, the flowers are wrong, and someone’s buttonhole is broken. On a wedding day she’s reading the room constantly, matching your energy, cracking jokes when you need to loosen up and quietly stepping back when the moment deserves space.
Colby’s behind the film side of things — equal parts creative and technical, always finding the angle nobody else thought to look for. always keeping an eye out for those little in between moments, the stollen glances, or the intimate exchanges. He is also always down for a good time! getting down on the dance floor, getting those shots that you wouldn’t have thought of!
Together we show up as a team that actually gives a damn. Not just about getting the shot, but about making sure you feel seen, comfortable, and fully present on one of the biggest days of your life. Most couples tell us afterward that they forgot we were even there — which is exactly what we’re going for.
about the name
Robins is our last name. Chasing adventures has always been our thing. Put them together and Chasing Robins Media was born — and honestly it couldn’t be more us.
We think weddings feel a lot like the best kind of adventure. You plan for months, you show up, and then it just happens— fast, emotional, a little chaotic, completely irreplaceable. Our job is to be right there with you in it, and make sure you have something to hold onto long after the day is gone.
Clocked out:
Sophia is probably rewatching Psych for the 12th time and calling it “research.” Colby is elbow-deep in whatever car project currently lives in the garage. Together we’re either planning a trip, on a trip, or recovering from a trip and already planning the next one 😉
We shoot weddings all over — Utah, the East Coast, Europe, wherever you’re saying your vows. If it involves a flight and a good story, we’re already interested!
