Picture this…
it’s your wedding morning, your hair & makeup is running late, and suddenly you’re rushing through family photos, missing cocktail hour, and feeling stressed. 😬 That’s the last thing you want on your big day. The good news? With the right timeline, you can avoid all of that chaos. Here are the biggest wedding day timeline mistakes—and how to make sure they don’t happen to you.
Mistake #1: Not Building in BUFFER TIME
Things always take longer than you think—getting dressed, loading into cars, even just gathering your bridal party. Add at least 15–20 minutes of cushion into every big transition. Future-you will thank you.
Mistake #2: Forgetting Golden Hour
That dreamy, glowy light everyone loves? 🌅 It doesn’t last forever. Schedule 15–20 minutes to sneak away for portraits during golden hour—it’s one of the best decisions you’ll make.
Mistake #3: Skipping a first look without Adjusting the timeline
If you’re not doing a first look, that’s totally okay! But it means most of your photos will need to happen after the ceremony. Make sure your timeline accounts for that extra time so you don’t feel rushed.
Mistake #4: Not including Travel time
Even if everything is “at the venue,” walking from the ceremony to cocktail hour with 100 guests stopping to hug you takes time. Always factor in a little extra.
Mistake #5: Overstuffing the Schedule
You don’t need to account for every minute of the day. Leave some breathing room so you can soak in the moments. Some of the BEST photos happen when nothing is planned.
