✅ Travel-Friendly Wedding Dress or Garment Bag Your dress should be carry-on safe or shipped with a plan in place. Consider a second garment bag to keep it clean in transit.
✅ Weather-Appropriate Attire Mountain elopement? Bring layers. Beachside vows? Ditch the stilettos and go barefoot. Always check the seasonal weather in advance.
✅ Legal Paperwork + Permits Every destination has different marriage license rules. Some places require waiting periods or officiants with local certifications. If you’re getting legally married at home and having a symbolic ceremony abroad, you still might need permits for certain venues!
✅ Timeline Buffer Plan your wedding at least 2–3 days after you arrive. Flight delays, jet lag, and last-minute hiccups are real. Give yourself time to adjust before the big day.
✅ Local Vendor Communication Hiring a planner? Great. If not, make sure you confirm availability and expectations with local vendors in their time zone. Have a translator app handy for international locations!
✅ Emergency Kit (Travel Edition) Pack a few just-in-case items: fashion tape, stain wipes, travel steamer, pain relievers, extra chargers, adapter plugs (for international), and snacks.
✅ Backup Plan for Outdoor Ceremonies Rain happens. Always have a Plan B, whether it’s an umbrella stash, tent rental, or indoor space on hold.
